CBC Beliefs

1.      We believe the Bible to be the inspired Word of God. (2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20,21)

2.      There is one Living and True God made up of three distinct persons: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. (Gen 1:2, 27; Matt 28:19; 1 John 5:7)

3.      We believe that Jesus is the only begotten Son of the Father and came to earth born of a virgin and was crucified, buried and resurrected from the dead by the Holy Spirit.  He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father making intercession for us.  (Luke 1:26-38; Rom 8:34; Heb 7:25)

4.      We believe salvation is available for everyone and comes through believing in the heart and confession of the mouth that Jesus Christ is LORD and Savior. (John 14:6; Acts 4:12; Rom 10:9-10,13; 2 Pet 3:9)

5.      We believe we become the righteousness of God and are thereby justified in His sight when we repent of our sins and believe on the LORD Jesus Christ.  (Mark 1:5, Acts 13:38-39; Rom 5:1; 1 Cor 6:11)

6.      We believe in the Baptism of the Holy Spirit with the initial evidence being speaking with other tongues as the Spirit gives the utterance.  We believe in the ministry of the nine gifts of the Spirit and encourage their use in our everyday lives as well as our services.  (Matt 3:11; Acts 1:4-5; Acts 2:4; Acts 10:44-46; Acts 19:6; 1 Cor 12:4-11; 1 Cor 14)

7.      We believe in water baptism by immersion in water in the name of the Father, the Son Jesus the Christ and the Holy Spirit (Matt 3:13-17; Mark 1:9-11, Luke 3:21-22; John 1:29-34; Acts 2:41)

8.      We believe that those who die outside of Jesus the Christ will live in torment in Hell that was prepared for Satan and his demons for all eternity, but those who have made Jesus the Christ the Lord of their life will spend eternity in heaven with the LORD. (Luke 12:5; John 5:24, 14:6; 2 Pet 2:4; Jude 6)

9.      We believe in the Second Coming of our LORD Jesus the Christ. (Dan 7:13; Matt 24:29-31; Acts 1:10-11; 1 Tess 4:13-18; Rev 1:7)

10.  We believe in Divine healing for the body but do not condemn medical science. (Ex 15:26; Ps 103:3; Ps 107:20; Prov 4:22; Is 53:3-5; Matt 10:1; Mark 16:17-18; 1 Peter 2:24; 3 John 2)

11.  We believe marriage to be the union of one man to one woman.  We value the family and encourage healthy relationships among husbands and wives and parents and their children. (Gen 2:24; Lev 18:22; Matt 19:5-6; Eph 5:31-33; Eph 6:1-4; Heb 13:4)

12.  We believe in the freedom of worship with every form of expression being done in decency and in order, not drawing attention to oneself.  We define order in our services as following the anointing of the Holy Spirit through the pastoral leadership on the platform.
