Walking by Faith - The Journey thru Life

Why should we speak in tongues?
April 07, 2010

Hey everybody!  What a great time of year it is for us celebrating the Resurrection of Jesus Christ!  In my last blog we had finished giving the examples of people that were baptized in the Holy Spirit and then began to speak in tongues in the book of Acts.  We have had such great feedback from people regarding this subject of the Holy Spirit.  Way too many people have never heard an in depth teaching on the Holy Spirit.  We have broken down in the Word that Jesus did want to baptize people with the Holy Spirit.  The next part that needs clarification is the speak ... read more
Holy Spirit Baptism - Part 5
March 29, 2010

When we last left off we were looking at another example of people being filled or baptized with the Holy Spirit in the book of Acts.  We have looked at three examples thus far and will study two more in this entry.  The idea of all of this is to help a person get some information on something that has been way too controversial throughout history.  Unfortunately, too few people are willing to look at these scriptures with an open view and just receive them for what they are, the inspired Word of God.  This topic is not that difficult but the lack of teaching on this area h ... read more
Holy Spirit Baptism - Part 4
March 24, 2010

Here we are again and picking up on where we were last time.  I have had some incredible feedback from people reading the blogs and I want to thank everyone for taking the time to read these.  When we left off Jesus was telling us the reason why His followers needed to wait in Jerusalem.  He wanted them to receive the Promise of the Father which we found out to be the Holy Spirit who would bring power.  We saw last time the very first example of people being baptized or filled with the Holy Spirit for the first time in Acts 2:1.  Let’s look at some other examples of ... read more
Holy Spirit Baptism - Part 3
March 16, 2010

Howdy bloggers!  I am soooo excited about the number of people that are reading the blogs or listening to the messages regarding the baptism of the Holy Spirit.  People from all walks of life are opening up their minds to things that they have previously been very closed to.  They are seeing what the Bible says about it and are finding out that it is actually something that Jesus wants them to have to give them more power in their life.  Many are receiving the Holy Spirit, I pray that you do as well! Let’s look in Acts 1 and begin today’s conversation.  In Acts 1 Jesu ... read more
Holy Spirit Baptism - Part 2
March 10, 2010

Hey gang!  I have been on blog hiatus lately and I truly apologize.  I have had several irons in the fire as always and the blog is where I decided to drop the ball I guess.  I want to pick up where we left off on the Baptism of the Holy Spirit.  I have seen such great response from this teaching either through the blogs, online messages, CD’s of our services or from people that have attended our services.  It is amazing how many people have never been taught or heard a message on the baptism of the Holy Spirit.  I guess I am not that amazed as I had not heard a m ... read more
Holy Spirit Baptism - Part 1
March 02, 2010

Hello everyone!  When we last left off we were still discussing the role of the Holy Spirit when we become “born again”.  I won’t even try to say that we have covered everything that there is to cover on this subject but I think we have given you enough to study out on your own and see what God shows you through His Word.  It is very important that you study this until you have a firm grip on what the Bible has to say about this.  Remember it is not about what we believe or what someone has told us but rather the only thing we can use as our basis is the Word of God.  ... read more
Holy Spirit & The New Birth - Part 3
February 24, 2010

I left off last time on my blog talking about the Holy Spirit’s role in the New Birth experience or “getting saved” as most people call it.  We looked at several verses that explained this point and I want to look at another with you today as we get into the difference of the Holy Spirit’s role in salvation and then the Baptism of the Holy Spirit.  Let’s first look at Titus 3:4-7.  These verses really helped me understand even further the “job” of the Holy Spirit in the salvation experience.  Notice the wording here in verses 4 and 5, “4 But when the kindness and the love o ... read more
Holy Spirit & The New Birth - Part 2
February 17, 2010

Here we are again ready to continue our look at what the Holy Spirit really does.  He is the forgotten, overlooked third person of the Trinity that gets either dismissed altogether or at least ignored because of confusion.  I will be the first to say that I in no way have everything figured out regarding the Holy Spirit.  I am on a journey to find out more about Him as well as the Father and Jesus on an everyday basis.  I have however been able to answer a lot of the questions that I used to have by studying the Bible and hope that it may help some others as well.  Peo ... read more
Holy Spirit & The New Birth - Part 1
February 15, 2010

Sorry for the delay between blogs.  I have been swamped this week with service preparations, visiting, birthday parties, etc.  No excuse but I has taken me a little while to sit down and get back to the Holy Spirit conversation that I started in my last blog.  When we left off I was introducing the scripture in 2 Cor 13:11-14, where it says 11 “Finally, brethren, farewell. Become complete. Be of good comfort, be of one mind, live in peace; and the God of love and peace will be with you.  12 Greet one another with a holy kiss. 13 All the saints greet you.  14 “The grace ... read more
Holy Spirit - Intro
February 10, 2010

Hey everybody!  I hope that you are recovering nicely from the fast.  What an awesome time it was for CBC as well as many others that were indirectly impacted by it.  I pray that you continue to maintain what you gained and don’t allow yourself to slip back into the same things that were holding you back before.  One of my desires for this blog is to have an opportunity to open up the Bible for people that haven’t gone to church at all, not very much, or maybe just believe what they have been told without knowing specifically why they believe it.  I fell into that la ... read more
Inner Man Vision
February 02, 2010

Here we are entering the last week of our church wide fast and I am so amazed to already be seeing tremendous results.  The testimonies of different people saying what God has done and is doing are awesome to hear.  It is so encouraging to hear about how people are experiencing changes in their life physically, emotionally, and spiritually.  The purpose of our time of fasting has been to seek the LORD in new ways in our life.  We are desiring simply more of Him and not merely things that He can do for us.  As I was thinking at the end of last week about just having one ... read more
I'm Comin' Out!
January 25, 2010

Hey bloggers!  I was doing some studying on fasting and what God intends for a fast to produce in us besides weight loss that is.  Ha!  Seriously though, I found in Isaiah 58:6 what His plan was for a fast.  I won’t go into great detail about it here as it would be better for you if you would listen to the message in the media section of the website.  I will say however that God has “break out” on His mind during a fast.  I have been talking a lot about the inner man vs. the outer man and I think the fast has a significant role to play in this.  The outer man ... read more
Fasting 4 The Will of God
January 22, 2010

Sup everybody?!  It is now the morning of the sixth day of the CBC fast.  As I am writing this I am sure many of you have had quite a week so far on your fast.  Some of the reports that have come back to me have been amazing.  I have so enjoyed all of the comments that people have been posting on the blog.  I encourage you all to post any comments of things that God has shown you or victories that you have experienced as they are a great encouragement to others that are reading the blog.  People that have never fasted at all are experiencing some tremendous spirit ... read more
In Pursuit of His Glory
January 18, 2010

Wow, I just got back from India and God never ceases to amaze me at what He wants to do in our lives.  As I continue to get to know my Father better I am finding out how much different He is than many things that I was taught for most of my life.  He is definitely not religious nor is He a ritual.  He never wants us to “feel obligated” to do something because that would go against love and relationship.  There will always be things that we don’t want to do but that still doesn’t mean that our motive should be obligation.  Our motive has to be our love for our Father.&n ... read more
Fasting 4 Our Breakthrough
January 18, 2010

Well, here we are and the CBC twenty-one day time of fasting has begun.  You may be like me and already experiencing hunger pains or having headaches from the withdrawal of foods or beverages that you are used to eating.  This is a natural side effect of fasting so I encourage you to “stay the course” and every time that we have those feelings in your body we need to press into God and realize that our outer man is just crying out.  Remember it is that same outer man that is our limitation.  He is the barrier that we are trying to break through.  We are not limited by ... read more
Gospel of Power
January 04, 2010

I have come to know through my own experiences as well as others that there is something in Christianity called “revelation”.  This is when something that has always been there becomes “revealed” to a person in a special personal way.  Whatever is revealed may be common knowledge to some and not known at all by others.  It may be something very simple that we have even read about before or heard before but something happens that makes it “alive” in us like never before. I am experiencing this with the inner man studies that the LORD is taking me through.  Some things have ... read more

Wow, I am just amazed at the endless possibilities in God.  As I continue to pursue the inner man growth in my life I am further challenged to go beyond what I have always known.  I have been raised in church for most of my life and so I have picked up quite a few things over that time.  There is a hunger in me to not see my spiritual potential through man’s eyes but rather through God’s eyes.  I wrote last time about the “God part” of us that was put in us in the beginning.  That is that part that I want to focus on.  We know about our outer or fleshly man but th ... read more
Planted in Dirt

As the inner man messages still resonates within me, I am further challenged to grow beyond anything I have ever done before.  I am seeing things from a whole new perspective and it has breathed a life into me that I pray will continue to take me further into the truths of the Word of God.  With all due respect to other people, I don’t want to measure the success or failure of my spirituality against the beliefs or experiences of other people.  If I only believe God for things that I see everyone else believing God for then how will I ever reach the full potential that He has fo ... read more
Master of Breakthroughs - Part II
December 15, 2009

I continue to be amazed at the things the LORD is desiring for His children to grow into.  I sense that religion has put such a lid on mankind that God never intended to be there.  There is so much available to the believer that far supersedes our logical minds sometimes.  Let me put it this way, in Eph 3:19 God shows His desire of wanting us to "know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with ALL the FULLNESS of God".  Referring back to my previous blog I will remind us that the fullness of anything is in its seed.  Everything it needs ... read more
Master of Breakthroughs - part I
December 07, 2009

I continue to meditate on the LORD and the inner man vs. the outer man on a regular basis and the latest thing that the Holy Spirit is teaching me on is the growth of the inner man.  I always thought that my spirit man was perfect when it was born again and the rest of the time was to be spent on fixing my soul and battling my flesh and the forces of darkness.  I will preface this by saying that it may simply be semantics for some and I have no desire to debate theology with anybody but I guess the benefit of my blog is to pass along my "thoughts" and let others decide for themselves ... read more
Breaking the Blog Barrier
October 13, 2009

Wow, it is finally here!  We have been working on our new website for some time now and we are finally ready to go live with it.  One of the things that I was suggested to offer was a blog section.  I have read many blogs and was not sure whether I would be a good "blogger" or not.  I have seen some I liked and others that did nothing for me which I suppose is the way it is with anything.      I wasn't even sure what the purpose of a blog was so I had to look it up.  When I did I found out that it was supposed to b ... read more
